Road Rage Suspect May Be Connected To Murder Of Arlington Teen

NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A 'person of interest' in the murder of Arlington teenager Carl Wilson is facing charges in a road rage incident in Mansfield.
Dallas White is already in custody on drugs and weapons charges out of Arlington.
"We are very relieved," Mansfield Police Chief Tracy Aaron said. "We want to make sure that our city stays safe and the way that we do that is to get the bad guy off the street."
And Chief Aaron has no doubt that Dallas White is a bad guy. She said, "Anybody that fires upon a car with a small child in it is a bad guy in our opinion."
Police are not releasing the victim's identity in the road rage case, but tell CBS 11 that the attack in the 2000 block of Crestwood, near Debbie Lane and Highway 287, was completely random.
White is facing two counts of aggravated assault in the case, because the driver's 5-year-old was also in the car.
The incident unfolded at about 7:30 p.m. on January 30, and the victim was able to write down a license plate number. Police quickly traced the car to an address in Arlington.
According to court documents, when Arlington police moved in to make an arrest, guns and marijuana were spotted in plain sight. White was arrested, along with 20-year-old Devin Holland.
Holland was released on bail on those charges, but was quickly re-arrested Thursday morning and charged in the January murder of Arlington Martin High School football player and young father, Carl Wilson.
According to Kennedale police, Wilson got into a disagreement at school with a fellow student. That student apparently has ties to a violent Arlington street gang. Members of that gang showed up for what was supposed to be an after school fistfight in nearby Kennedale. And according to court documents, Holland pulled a weapon and shot Wilson multiple times.
Concerned parent Willona Lightfoot said, "It was senseless and it shouldn't have went on."
Lightfoot was headed home last month and spotted Wilson's body lying in the street. "It should never have happened," she said. "You can't take it back."
Lightfoot was relieved to hear of Holland's arrest and hopes that others involved will soon be in custody as well. "I hope he snitches and tells on the rest of them."
According to the arrest warrant affidavit in Holland's case, the known gang member escaped the murder scene in a red Ford F-150. Witnesses wrote down the license plate and police later learned that those tags were "in fact that of Dallas White's red Ford F-150."
White, the accused shooter in the Mansfield road rage incident, is considered a 'person of interest' in Wilson's murder. Police also tell us that Holland is a 'person of interest' in the road rage case.
"One of the things that make us successful in cases like this is the partnerships we have with Arlington, Kennedale, and the surrounding agencies," Chief Aaron explained. "And this is a true reflection of how successful all of our agencies can be when we work in partnership and this is a true reflection of partnership."
