Richland Police Officer Shoots Suspect In Hand, 2 In Custody In Hospital After Car Crash
RICHLAND, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - Richland Police responded to an officer-involved shooting around 2:00 p.m. Wednesday.
It happened on South Sunset Avenue.
It began with a Richland police officer responding to a report of suspicious persons at a residence.
The officer made with two male suspects.
An altercation ensued that ended with shots being fired and one of the suspects being struck in the hand, Richland Police said.
The suspects took off in a vehicle which was involved in a crash shortly after leaving the scene.
The two suspects were taken to separate hospitals for treatment of injuries with one of the male suspects being detained.
The officer also received medical attention for possible injuries.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Texas Rangers.
Richland is city in Navarro County, 67 miles south of Dallas.
