Revered Texas Newswoman Linda Ellerbee Retires

DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Houston raised Linda Ellerbee's first TV job came in 1972 at KHOU.

They liked the chatty personal letter she accidentally sent out on the national wire while working at the Associated Press bureau in Dallas, however the AP did not.

She spent decades in front of the camera at NBC, ABC and Nickelodeon where she won a prestigious Peabody Award.

She credits what she calls the 'Texas nation of storyteller' and says she was raised by people who understood stories had a beginning, a middle and an end.
