TARRANT COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) - Ethan Couch's request to have District Judge Wayne Salvant removed from his case has been denied by another judge.

The decision came after a hearing earlier the week.

Had the judge been removed from the case it could have lead to the teen's release from jail.

Instead, Couch will continue to serve a 720-day sentence; 180 days for each of the four people he killed in a drunk-driving crash in 2013.

Couch, then 16 years old, was sentenced to 10 years of probation for the crash that also injured 12 people.

During Couch's sentencing phase of his trial, defense lawyers presented evidence of affluenza, suggesting Couch never learned consequences growing up due to his upper-class upbringing.
