FRISCO (AP) — A school district in a Dallas suburb has released documents in which high school students — including some black football players — allege a former coach made racist comments.

The Dallas Morning News reports that the documents it obtained Tuesday through an open records request include an allegation that Todd Campbell told one black player, "I'm going to hang you in that tree."

Campbell resigned as an assistant football coach at Centennial High School in February. He could not be reached for comment but previously said that the accusations were false. The Frisco school district completed its investigation in January. Whether Campbell resigned because of the investigation, district spokeswoman Shana McKay-Wortham told The Associated Press: "not to our knowledge."

The documents show that students first raised concerns last April.
