ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) -- Texas Rangers infielder Jurickson Profar will undergo surgery on his right shoulder on Monday, MLB.com's TR Sullivan reports.

Profar had been throwing out to 105 feet with no major discomfort before an MRI on Tuesday revealed increased strain in his shoulder muscles.

The surgery will be performed by Dr. Keith Meister. The timetable for recovery will not be set until the extent of the surgery is known.

The 22-year-old missed the entire 2014 season with a shoulder injury.

In 94 career games, he has hit .231 with seven homeruns and 26 RBI with Texas.
