DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) -Major league baseball has spoken, and it might not be as bad as you thought Ranger's fans.
Second baseman Rougned Odor has been suspended for eight games for his role in Sunday's brawl with the Toronto Blue Jays, while Jose Bautista received a one-game suspension for his actions during the incident and for his postgame comments.
Odor plans to appeal the suspension reports say.
Other players and coaches that were suspended from the incident include Blue Jays manager John Gibbons (3 games for returning to the field after being ejected and inciting further fighting), Blue Jays first base coach Tim Leiper (1 game for returning to field after being ejected), Blue Jays pitcher Jesse Chavez (3 games for intentionally throwing at Prince Fielder) and Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus (1 game for aggressive actions).
In addition, Matt Bush (intentionally threw at Bautista, causing the warnings), Sam Dyson (aggressive actions) and Steve Buechele (aggressive actions) were all fined undisclosed amounts for their parts in the fight.
A.J. Griffin and Robinson Chirinos were also fined because they are on the D.L. and came onto the field.
Josh Donaldson (aggressive actions), outfielder Kevin Pillar (aggressive actions) and bench coach DeMarlo Hale were among the Blue Jays that were fined.
