DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant is counter-suing his former landlord, according to a report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Texas State Senator Royce West is suing Bryant for $100,000 to $200,000. A court filing says that a home Bryant lived in needs $60,000 worth of repairs.

In the counterclaim filed against West, Bryant says West used him to "improperly line his own pockets and those of his business associates."

One of the business associates is David Wells, a former confidante of Bryant's, who was tasked with helping Bryant stay out of trouble when he first came into the league.

According to the lawsuit filed by Bryant, Wells made marketing deals without the receivers knowledge through a company he created called Dez Enterprises. West would then instruct companies to make endorsement agreement payments to himself or Wells. The suit says the money would never reach Bryant.

Bryant alleges Wells "absconded" with more than $200,000 that is owed to him, while West's law firm was paid more than $300,000 through the endorsement deals.

"West proceeded with conscious indifference to Bryant's rights and welfare," the lawsuit says. It also claims West devised the scheme to rob Bryant.

The lawsuit seeks repayment of those losses as well as legal fees.
