Two Injured, One Dead In Shooting At Alpine High School

ALPINE, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - An early morning shooting rocked a west Texas high school Thursday leaving two people wounded and the alleged female suspect dead.
According to reports, the shooting took place at Alpine High School around 9:00am. Alpine is located in far southwest Texas - about 220 miles southeast of El Paso.
All local schools, and the Alpine ISD administration building, were immediately place on emergency lockdown. According to the school district's website the town of about 5,900 residents has three schools.
According to the Brewster County Sheriff's Office, one female student was shot. Her condition is not known.
The Alpine Avalanche facebook page has also reported that "one student took own life. Law enforcement officer shot in friendly fire."
Officers from the Brewster County Sheriff's Office, Alpine Police Department and U.S. Border Patrol were all involved with securing locations and the search for suspects.
Students were evacuated from the buildings and released when the all clear was given.
As a precaution, nearby Sul Ross State University was also placed on emergency lockdown.
