Rangers Sign RHP Tom Wilhelmsen To 1-Year, $3.1 Mil Deal

ARLINGTON (105.3 THE FAN) - The Texas Rangers have agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher Tom Wilhelmsen on a one-year, $3.1 Mil contract for the 2016 season.
The 32-year old Wilhelmsen posted a strong season for the Mariners in 2015, posting a 3.19 ERA and 1.37 WHIP with 60 strikeouts in 62 frames. His biggest letdown was his 29 walks, and it's a number he'll look to improve on as he battles for a back end spot in the Rangers bullpen in 2016.
The Rangers also signed infielder Pedro Ciriaco to a minor league contract with an invitation to major league spring training.
Ciriaco, 30, spent the final five months of last season with the Braves, batting .261 (37-142) with a home run and 15 RBI over a career-high 84 games.
