Rangers Recall Joey Gallo, Hoying Optioned

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Rangers have recalled infielder/outfielder Joey Gallo, the club announced Tuesday.

Outfielder Jared Hoying has been optioned back to Triple-A Round Rock.

The addition of Gallo comes at a time when the Rangers are missing a power threat in their lineup with the loss of Prince Fielder.

Fielder is expected to have his second fusion surgery on his neck and will be out for the rest of the season, according to Rangers general manager Jon Daniels.
