Rangers, Moreland Agree To 1-Year Deal To Avoid Arbitration

ARLINGTON (105.3 THE FAN) - The Texas Rangers and INF Mitch Moreland have agreed to terms on a one-year, $5.7mil contract for 2016 to avoid salary arbitration.
Moreland had asked for $6 million and Texas had offered $4.7 million, leaving the settlement $362,500 above the midpoint.
Texas hasn't gone to an arbitration hearing since 2000 with Lee Stevens.

With this agreement, the Rangers have signed all of their arbitration-eligible players for 2016.
Moreland made $2,975,000 last season, when he hit .278 with 23 home runs and 85 RBIs in 132 games, starting 110 of those at first base.
He has a career major league average of .258 with 88 homers and 294 RBI in 626 games with Texas from 2010-15.
