Rangers Bring Back INF Adam Rosales

ARLINGTON, Texas (105.3 THE FAN) - On Monday the Texas Rangers announced that they have signed free agent first baseman Adam Rosales to a 1-year deal for the 2015 season.

31-year old Rosales returns to the Rangers after batting .262 with 4 HR and 19 RBI in 56 games with the club last year. He had a $750,000 salary and earned a $25,000 performance bonus.

The club did not offer Rosales a contract by the Dec. 2 deadline, allowing him to become a free agent.

Pitcher Matt West was designated for assignment to make room on the roster for Rosales.

Also on Monday, the Rangers signed free agent RHP Juan Carlos Oviedo to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.

Oviedo, who was 3-3 with a 3.69 ERA in 32 relief appearances for Tampa Bay last season in his return from Tommy John surgery. Oviedo had 92 saves for the Miami Marlins from 2009-11, when he was known as Leo Nunez.
