DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Shawn Tolleson will open the 2016 season as the closer according to Rangers assistant general manager Thad Levine.
Levine told 105.3 The Fan's Ben & Skin Show that Tolleson will be the man at the back-end of the bullpen for now.
When it comes to further additions to the club, Levine said, "I feel like we've filled all of our needs." However, he says they'll continue to look at the open market because many free agents remain unsigned.
Among the biggest battles in spring training, Levine points to the left field position, although, he says it's Hamilton's job baring him not being healthy.
Another one up for debate is the back-end of the Rangers rotation. The team currently has A.J. Griffin, Nick Martinez, Alex "Chi Chi" Gonzalez and Anthony Ranaudo as candidates for the 5th spot in the rotation to open the season. It remains to be seen if the team will add another veteran arm to the mix, but the Rangers will continue to monitor the market says Levine.
