ARLINGTON (105.3 THE FAN) - The Texas Rangers agreed to a one-year, $10 million contract with free-agent right-hand pitcher Andrew Cashner according to league sources.

Cashner (6' 6" 200lbs) a native of Conroe, Texas, split the 2016 season between the San Diego Padres and Miami Marlins.

According to CBS Sports, he went 5-11 with a 5.25 ERA (77 ERA+) in 132 total innings. Neck, hamstring, and blister problems caused him to miss a bunch of time throughout the season.

The 30-year-old former TCU pitcher could be placed into the Rangers' rotation somewhere behind Cole Hamels and Yu Darvish.
