The Rangers added more insurance to their organization when they signed free agent outfielder Drew Stubbs to a minor league deal, Monday.

Stubbs appeared in 51 games for the Colorado Rockies this season. He hit .216 with five home runs and 10 RBIs in 102 at-bats.

Stubbs was selected 8th overall by the Cincinnati Reds in 2006. He was a three-time All-American at the University of Texas.

The 30-year old will report to Triple-A Round Rock for tonight's game. (8/24)
