SEATTLE (AP) -- The Texas Rangers have activated right-hander Tanner Scheppers from the 15-day disabled list.

Texas made the move Friday before its series opener in Seattle.

Scheppers started the season on the disabled list with a right ankle sprain. He joins the team after 2 2-3 scoreless innings in three rehab appearances for Double-A Frisco.

Anthony Ranaudo had been optioned back to Triple-A Round Rock after he gave up six runs in 1 2-3 innings in a start for Texas on Wednesday, a 10-2 loss to the Los Angeles Angels. The Rangers were off Thursday.

The Rangers also transferred right-hander Kyuji Fujikawa from Frisco to Round Rock to continue his rehab from a right groin strain.
