ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) -- The Texas Rangers have reinstated outfielder Josh Hamilton from the 15-day disabled list and optioned third baseman Joey Gallo to Triple-A Round Rock.

Hamilton will be active for Tuesday night's game in Baltimore and bat fifth.

Hamilton last played May 31 against Boston, when he suffered a strained left hamstring while running during his game-ending two-run double. He was placed on the DL June 4.

The left-handed slugger batted .273 (6-22) with 2 home runs and 5 RBI in 7 games before the injury. He has been rehabbing at Frisco (AA) and Round Rock (AAA).

Gallo, in his first major league action, batted .218 with 5 home runs and 13 RBI over 25 games. This will be his first action at the Tiple-A level.
