ARLINGTON (105.3 The Fan) - The Texas Rangers announced Tuesday that the club has acquired catcher Bobby Wilson from the Detroit Tigers in exchange for left-handed pitcher Chad Bell.

The club activated Chris Gimenez from the 15-day DL and designated him for assignment to make room on 40-man roster for Wilson.

Wilson was 2-for-13 with 2 RBI in 5 games/4 starts at catcher for Detroit. He opened the season at Triple-A Toledo and was 1-for-3 with 2 RBI in one game before being purchased by the Tigers on April 12 when James McCann went on the DL.

He was acquired by Detroit from Texas on March 29 with RHP Myles Jaye for catcher Bryan Holiday.
