Rain Threat Pushes Up 'Friday Night Lights' Kick Off Times

NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - It's happening again! There is rain in the North Texas forecast Friday. The chance for severe weather has school districts moving Friday night kick off times teams will suiting up ahead of schedule.

Fans will be walking through the gates of the Birdville Fine Arts Athletics Complex tonight instead of Friday. Southlake Carroll High School will face off against Haltom High.

School districts across North Texas aren't taking any chances when it comes to Friday Night Lights. From Dallas to Keller, players will be getting ready for games early.

It was just last week when dozens of games were postponed or delayed because of heavy rains and concerns about lightning.

University Interscholastic League (UIL) rules for lightning and safety urge schools to wait at least 30 minutes after seeing lightning.

There are dozens of high school football schedule changes that have been made. So far Independent School Districts in Arlington, Birdville, Dallas, Frisco, Irving, Keller, Lake Worth, Prosper and Tolar have changed their games from Friday to Thursday.
