DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – For thousands of Dallas students who have yet to return to school this fall, a phone call from Dallas ISD employees may be all it takes.

The school staffers are part of an annual program called Operation Comeback.

Their goal is to reach the more than 5,700 DISD students who haven't gone to class yet this semester.

The calls start going out Thursday and will last for several days.
