ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) -- Texas Rangers infielder Jurickson Profar underwent right shoulder surgery on Monday and is expected to miss the entire 2015 season.

The surgery took place at Trinity Surgery Center in Arlington and was performed by Rangers Team Physician Dr. Keith Meister.

Dr. Meister repaired a labrum tear in the shoulder, and reports that the surgery went well and did not require any further surgical repair.

Profar is expected to begin his rehab program in the next few days.

The 22-year-old missed the entire 2014 season with a shoulder injury. In 94 career games, he has hit .231 with seven homeruns and 26 RBI with Texas.
