FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) — U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is throwing a rally at the Fort Worth Stockyards next week as part of his "This Is #CruzCountry" presidential campaign tour.

State Senator Konni Burton (R-Colleyville) will host Cruz when he kicks off a three-event day at the Stockyards on Sept. 3. Later that day, Cruz is set to host events in Tyler and Kingwood.

"I know Texans, especially up here in [State District] 10, are excited about Sen. Cruz's momentum in the presidential race," Burton said. "I have no doubt he will have a big welcome home to Texas when he arrives at the Stockyards next week."

During the rally, Cruz will outline the values and goals behind his presidential campaign.

Doors open at 10 a.m., an hour before the rally's start. Entry and parking will be free.
