Dallas North Tollway Reopens After Midday Incident

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - An overturned semi caused massive traffic delays at the George Bush Turnpike and Dallas North Tollway.

A piece of construction equipment dangled precariously over the ramp for hours Monday afternoon. Witnesses say they even saw a construction crew member dangling over the edge at one point.

The 40,000 lb. boring rig that was on the truck is now upright, but the ramp is damaged from the incident.

Throughout the evening rush hour, crews will continue working to remove the equipment from the roadway.

Traffic delays continue eastbound on the George Bush Highway at the time of this report.

Traffic is moving slowly northbound on the Dallas North Tollway.
