Pre-Grading The Dallas Cowboys Draft Plan

IRVING (105.3 THE FAN) - "Grade the Cowboys' Draft''? That's a fraudulent exercise for most of us; how can we claim we're more knowledgable than Jones, Jones, Garrett and McClay about what Dallas should do this weekend in the NFL Draft?

But "Grade The Plan'' and "Grade The Execution Of The Plan''? That's my bag.

So, here's my best analysis of what your Dallas Cowboys will try to do starting tonight:

1 DB Jalen Ramsey at 4

2 No trade-up engineered so QB Hackenberg at 34

3 WR Braxton Miller at 67

4 DE Ronald Blair at 101

4 RB Kelvin Taylor

6 LB Jaylon Smith

6 DB Derrick Kindred

6 DT Rodney Coe

6 OL Issac Seumalo

Dallas may very well have Ramsey at the very top of the board and view him as Stud 1A … and if he's somehow gone before Dallas picks, the Cowboys take Stud 1B, running back Ezekiel Elliott.

At the end of Round 1, the Cowboys examine a trade-up for a QB … but in my projection, sit pat.

The lower rounds feature some lesser lights … but some potential just-as-important ones, if the Cowboys get 'em right.

And if the Cowboys get 'em right? They'll eventually get stellar grades for this draft. For now though, all we can really grade is the execution of the plan.

And here we go ...
