DFW AIRPORT (CBSDFW.COM) - A brief power outage caused some system interruptions at DFW Airport Monday evening, and resulted in departure delays for more than 200 outbound flights.

Air traffic control operations were not affected, according to an airport spokesperson.

The power outage happened about 5:00 p.m. and lasted only a few minutes, but the service interruption forced resets to many different systems such as checkpoint screening and baggage belts.

Most systems returned to normal operations by 5:45 p.m., but DFW and its partner airlines and other agencies continue to resolve other isolated issues such as an outage in a limited area of Terminal A.

The power outage was caused by problems with utility company electric lines feeding into the airport.
