IRVING (CBSDFW.COM) - Irving Police are working to confirm the suspect in a deadly bank robbery in Oklahoma is the same man who assaulted and robbed a store clerk at an Irving gas station.

Investigators said the car found at the scene of a shootout that followed the robbery in Oklahoma belonged to the clerk who was robbed in Irving.

In newly-released security footage involving the robbery at a Irving Shell gas station, a man is seen walking inside pointing a gun a clerk Akm Zaman. Moments later after stealing cash and lottery ticket, the suspect can be seen hitting Zaman with a metal baseball bat.

"I think maybe I die right now," said Zamam.

Zaman's skull was split open, but he will fully recover, according to doctors. Investigators said his car was found and believed to be possibly driven by Oklahoma bank robbery suspect Cedric Norris.

He is accused of walking in a bank, shooting two people, killing one, taking hostages before leading police on chase where he later died in a shootout with authorities.

"Who'd want to see somebody you love, somebody you know do something like that and you know you never seen them act this way in their life. Never," said Margo Norris, the suspect's sister.

Margo Norris, who lives in Garland, said she had not seen her brother in a week. She said her brother had a place to sleep, money and does not understand what lead him to the possible crimes.

"You're thinking about the other people's family, you're thinking about your family, and then you're thinking, God what was really on this man's mind to take him there?" questioned Norris.

It is a question that will haunt Norris as she will likely never know why. Norris said her focus right now is praying for the families her brother might have impacted forever.

"He's changed a whole bunch of people's live as well as ours," said Norris.

Zaman said he just feels lucky to be breathing.

"God. I think God. God helped me," said Zaman.

Irving Police said they are moving forward as if the two crimes are related.
