Possible Attempted Child Abduction In Keller

KELLER (CBSDFW.COM) - Parents of an 8-year-old boy told police that a couple asked their son if he needed a ride Friday, then sped off when he said no. The child said he was startled.

"He was shaken up, he was shaken up, he was crying, but again I was proud of him," said the boy's father, Bill Mellander.

They said the man and woman were in a newer model green pickup truck.

Police canvassed the area along Charrington Drive where it happened, but didn't find anything suspicious, according to a spokesperson for the Keller police department.

Since an actual crime didn't happen, police aren't able to do much more.

But they have promised to step up patrols in the neighborhood.
