PONDER (CBS11) — The storm that produced an EF-0 tornado in Fort Worth Thursday night also tore through the Denton County town of Ponder.

It's not known if it was an actual tornado that touched down or if it was just strong winds, but residents there say whatever it was, it wasn't something they were used to seeing there.

Mansell Smith said he had to hunker down in his bedroom when the storm packing hail, rain and wind came through.

"I'm 84 years old, and I was raised here," Smith said. "I haven't seen anything like it."

Luckily, for those residents the storm damage was not major or widespread.

But Jeff Anderson's house did bear a good amount of the hit.

The storms winds forced his tree to come down, lawn furniture to be thrown through the air and a 4-by-4 piece of wood to be lodged into a shed.

"I know what they mean now by 'unpredictable,'"Anderson said. "It sounded like a train, and it's true; it's kind of scary."

There were no reports of injuries as a result of the storms impact.
