Aggravated Assault Suspect Killed By Police Outside Denton Buc-ee's After Producing Handgun

DENTON (CBSDFW.COM) Denton police shot and killed a suspect wanted for aggravated assault at a Buc-ee's store Friday after he produced a handgun in his car.

On Friday, the Denton County Sheriff's Office had received information on 53-year-old Marlon Bonds, who shot his girlfriend Thursday and threatened to kill others in Fort Worth.

Around 10 a.m., deputies located Bonds at the Buc-cee's store located at 5005 S. I-35E and saw him exit a small white sedan, walk to the rear and go into the trunk.

When deputies approached Bonds, they blocked his exit in order to keep him from fleeing. Bonds then reentered the vehicle and produced a handgun at which time the deputies fired their weapons — striking him multiple times.

Bonds was transported to Medical City Denton where he was pronounced dead. No other people were injured in the incident.

The Texas Rangers are currently investigating.
