Dallas Police Searching For DISD Elementary School Vandals

DALLAS, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - Dallas school district police are trying to track down several kids who vandalized a campus and took off with property.

According to school officials about $50,000 in damage was done to Edward Titche Elementary in Pleasant Grove on Monday night.

District police have surveillance footage of teenagers breaking in to the school and destroying a copy machine.

The young vandals also broke into vending machines and sprayed fire extinguishers throughout the building.

After that, the group took off with backpacks, a wheelchair and some other items.

"We will not tolerate people stealing from our students or damaging school property," said the Dallas ISD Chief of Police Craig Miller. " We want anyone with any information to please come forward."

The district police chief says he's determined to catch the teenage thieves and he's asking anyone with info to contact Det. Sgt. Green at 972-749-2320 or via North Texas Crime Stoppers at 877-373-8477.
