COLLIN COUNTY (CBS 11 NEWS) - Tuesday was National Night Out. It's a night when neighbors come together to get to know each other and their local police officers. But in Plano, one officer is already very well known. And on this night he used his now famous dancing skills to strengthen a community.

Officer Chris Bianez brought his acclaimed dance moves to National Night Out parties in the Collin County city.

Bianez is the Plano police officer who's nifty line dancing was captured on video and has been seen more than 668,000 times on Facebook.

"Nearly a million people have seen that video," Bianez told CBS 11 News. "I'm shocked. I'm shocked, but most of the comments have been favorable."

The new viral video star says he always brings his boom box when he rolls out on the streets of Plano. "If we can bring music it just makes people happy."

The 53-year-old is a Plano PD crime prevention officer who doesn't need a siren to make an impressive entrance.

Bianez is more than just a good dancer. He's an even better gymnast, a skill he demonstrated in a crime prevention video.

"This really brings the human factor and makes the 'officer' much more relateable to people," he said.

But it's his dancing that really turned some of Tuesday night's crime watch parties into something memorable.

The 18-year veteran makes it look easy. He's having fun, but it's a job he takes seriously.

When asked if he worried that bad guys wouldn't take him seriously Bianez said, "Not really. When we're talking about serious things like safety and crime you have to find the humor."

Bianez attended three of the Plano's National Night Out parties and most attending agreed he was the life of all of them.
