ROCKWALL (CBSDFW/AP) - Rockwall authorities are looking for a man suspected of impersonating a police officer in Rockwall.

According to police, a man approached two people at a Rockwall auto center on I-30 and South Goliad Street Sunday morning and told them he was a member of a special narcotics task force and needed to search their vehicles.

Authorities say the first person refused to let the suspect in, but the second person let the man into their vehicle after the suspect showed a badge.

The victim ordered the suspect to get out of the car, and police say the suspect then grabbed the victim's wallet, pushed him against passenger door and fled in a gold or tan Nissan sedan.

Authorities describe the suspect as an African-American man in his mid-30s, who's about 6-feet-tall and weighs between 200 and 240 pounds.

Similar incidents have been reported in Greenville, Royse City and Sulphur Springs.
