KILLEEN, Texas (AP) — Police say a 2-year-old boy has died after being shot as two of his relatives argued at a Central Texas home and one of the women fired a gun.

Killeen police didn't immediately release the name of the toddler who died Saturday afternoon. No charges were immediately filed.

Police spokeswoman Caroll Smith says officers received a 911 call about a shooting. Arriving officers were told that the boy's mother transported him to a Killeen hospital. The toddler was later transferred to a Temple hospital, where he died.

Smith says the investigation revealed two women argued, one retrieved a gun and fired. The boy was on the front porch when he was found to have been shot.

Killeen police are investigating what prompted the argument and who shot the victim.
