17-Year-Old Shot, Killed In Chili's Parking Lot

GARLAND (CBSDFW.COM) - Police are investigating after a 17-year-old was killed in a Garland Chili's parking lot Thursday afternoon.

Witnesses told police Ruben Trinidad of Garland was eating with friends at the restaurant in the 3200 block of North George Bush Freeway and then went outside. He was later found on the concrete bleeding profusely.

No one at the restaurant heard screams or gun shots, according to  Lt. Pedro Barineau with Garland police.

Trinidad was transported to the hospital where he died from from a gunshot wound.

Homicide detectives believe Trinidad met the suspect in a vehicle that was in the parking lot of the restaurant. The suspect pulled out a gun, shot the teenager and fled from the location.

Police have identified the suspect as a 15-year-old juvenile.

This is an ongoing investigation.
