Police Investigate Plano Kidnapping Attempt

PLANO (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Plano are investigating a report about the attempted kidnapping of a child. The alleged incident took place at around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon in the 4500 block of Lorimar Drive.

Authorities said that a 9-year-old boy was walking home from school when he was approached by a man in a white van. The man asked to give the child a ride, but the boy refused. That is when, police stated, the man allegedly exited his van and grabbed the student.

The child managed to escape, and ran home unharmed.

Police described the suspect as a white male of average height, with a thin-to-medium build. He is bald, but has a thick black and gray mustache. Anybody with information about this individual or the alleged incident is urged to contact the Plano Police Department at 972-941-2148.
