GRAND PRAIRIE (CBSDFW.COM) - A man shot and killed a woman and then himself around 12:30 a.m. Thursday at a home near the 1300 block of SE 4th Street.

Grand Prairie Police said after getting a 911 call from the woman who lived at the home, but who was able to get away, officers discovered a man with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gun shot wound to the head and a woman who'd been shot multiple times.

Police said detectives are still going through evidence from the scene and developing a timeline of what the victim and suspect did in the hours and moments leading up to the apparent murder-suicide.

Police have not yet publicly identified the man and woman but said they were from Cedar Hill.

Police said they're investigating the crime as a domestic violence homicide.
