Police Identify Suspect In Fatal Shooting Of Co-Worker

HOUSTON (AP) — Houston police have issued an arrest warrant charging with murder a suspect in the fatal shooting of a co-worker at a northeast Houston workplace.

The warrant issued Wednesday charges Rodney Jackson with murder in the shooting death of 40-year-old Jason Yanko of Houston.

A police statement says Yanko was Jackson's supervisor at Val-Fit Inc. and had told Jackson he was being laid off when the 49-year-old suspect was went to his vehicle, retrieved a handgun and returned to the building's front door. When Yanko barred him from the building, Jackson shot him several times a fled in a white Ford F-350 flatbed pickup truck belonging to the company. The truck bore Texas license tags with the number BN8-1425.

Police are still searching for the suspect.
