FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Detectives have secured a warrant of arrest for the father who said he found a razor blade in his child's Halloween treat this week.

The man claimed that he cut his finger on a store-bought Rice Krispies Treat meant for his 4-year-old son. He even went so far as to say the sugary snack didn't seem to have been tampered with, at first glance.

Detectives began an investigation based on his story told to officers Halloween night. Following investigative leads developed from the father's statement, detectives executed a search warrant on a home where the treat was believed to have come from. Detectives spoke with the resident who denied any knowledge of the incident and provided evidence contrary to what detectives were told by the child's father as to what treats were given out.

Detectives then conducted a search of the father's home locating evidence consistent with what was in the Rice Krispies Treat.

The father eventually confessed to detectives that he had placed the razor in the Rice Krispies Treat and staged the incident.

The man faces a charge of filing a false report to police when he's arrested. Police said his identity will be released after his arrest.
