Police, Family Search For Missing Seagoville Preteen
SEAGOVILLE (CBSDFW.COM) - Witnesses said Mariah Allen was in her school uniform in Seagoville when she left to catch the school bus Friday morning. The next time anyone saw her, she was caught on a surveillance camera at a 7-11 and she wasn't in her school uniform.
Allen was seen alone buying a soft drink at the store just after 8:30 am, Friday wearing a red tank top and blue jeans.
"She bought a soda, went out under the bridge and then went back south," said Allen's grandmother, Donna Wilson describing how Allen was seen leaving the store and walking along a highway access road. "She was alone by herself."
A store clerk said Allen's mother was frantically searching for her Friday night and was worried about what she'd seen on her daughter's cell phone.
"She didn't know exactly how to deal with it and stuff," said the employee, Rick Jones. "But she said that the daughter had possibly had some older men contacted [sic] her on her cell phone. And she was really worried that she had met up with somebody. And she was very distraught... very broken down."
Police have searched the area and have talked to a high school boy who Allen has been hanging around with.
Allen's grandmother said the fifth grader had been unhappy living with her parents and had recently skipped school several times. And she prays Allen didn't do something desperate and dangerous to leave home.
"You know she's out there probably scared, cold, hungry, alone," Wilson said.
Seagoville police said they hope someone has seen Allen since yesterday morning and can help solve the mystery of her disappearance.
