WACO (CBSDFW.COM) - A four-county chase that began in Rockwall County and that topped speeds of 100 miles an hour ended late Thursday when the suspect vehicle was spiked and then crashed in Waco.

The 100-mile-plus-long chase began around 9 p.m. when Rockwall County deputies tried to perform a traffic stop.  The driver refused to pull over and the chase ensued.

It went into Dallas and down I-35 into Ellis County and Hill County before McLennan County deputies were able to hit the silver Mazda's  tires with spike strips.

The car lost control, zipped across three lanes of traffic and hit a barrier wall.

Deputies quickly arrested the driver - identified as 26-year-old Jonathan Alexander Davis.

DPS troopers said Davis will be charged with felony evading arrest, but could face other charges as well.

At times, police said, Davis was weaving around cars with his headlights off.
