Police chase ends in Midlothian, leaving 1 person injured

MIDLOTHIAN – A police chase Friday morning ended with an armed suspect shot to death by officers near Midlothian. 

Around 2:30 a.m., police were observing a house in Dalworthington Gardens that was placed on "close patrol" after a suspect threatened family members with "violence and death," according to a press release by the Dalworthington Gardens Department of Public Safety. 

While Dalworthington Gardens police were checking on the house, they encountered the suspect. When officers tried to stop the suspect, the person fled in a car. Dalworthington Gardens police then pursued the suspect with help from Pantego police. 

The chase continued about 30 minutes southeast to Midlothian, where the suspect rammed into two police patrols and fired a weapon at the officers. Multiple officers returned fire, wounding the suspect. 

The suspect was taken to a local hospital where they died. No police officers were injured.
