Police Body Cam Video Shows Deadly DPD Officer Involved Shooting

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Newly released body camera video shows Dallas police shooting and killing a man outside his home.
Jason Harrison's family released it as part of their "wrongful death" lawsuit against the Dallas Police Department.
They say Harrison needed mental health help, when he was shot and killed by a DPD officer who responded to his home last June.
Police say Harrison had a screwdriver and lunged at officers.
The attorney for Jason Harrison's family said the video is an example what not to do when dealing with the mentally ill.
"When you're dealing with someone who's bipolar you don't agitate not supposed to inflame. You took them off the ledge not shove him off of it," said attorney Geoff Henley.
The family has been steadfast, saying police knew Harrison was bipolar, and instead of deescalating the situation, they shot and killed him.
"For someone to go from zero to 100 it he way these guys it...just don't believe that's the way it should be done in Dallas, Texas," said Harrison's brother, Sean Harrison.
The Dallas Police Department responded to the release of the video with this statement:
"The Dallas Police Department has completed its criminal investigation into the June 14, 2014 Officer Involved Shooting at 208 Glencairn. The investigation has been forwarded to the Dallas County District Attorney's Office for their actions."
