Police Arrest Suspect For Murder In Grand Prairie

GRAND PRAIRIE (CBSDFW.COM) - Grand Prairie police arrested a 19-year-old male early Sunday morning and charged him with murder.

Police said officers responded to a shooting near the 1800 block of South Santa Clara Court at approximately 1:40 a.m. Sunday.

When officers arrived at the location, they found a male with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the suspect was still at the location when officers arrived.

The suspect, 19-year-old Zackary Rico, was taken into custody and is being held at the Grand Prairie Detention Facility on a murder charge.

According to witnesses, Rico and the victim, 20-year-old Jacob Vadaurri, were arguing prior to the shooting.
