GRAND PRAIRIE (CBSDFW.COM) -  Grand Prairie police have arrested a 22-year-old man after finding a 20-year-old woman dead with gunshot wounds in his parked car at an apartment complex.

A resident in the complex called police around midnight Thursday. Police identify the suspect as Anthony Marcus and the victim as Florencia Padilla.

Amy Nipp lives next door to Padilla's family and says she and Marcus dated for years. "They were so sweet together. They had been together for a long time and I wouldn't suspect he'd do anything like that to her."

Lyle Gensler, the Grand Prairie Police department spokesman says, "The crime scene we feel is inside that vehicle."
Gensler says detectives don't believe Padilla was shot in Grand Prairie.

The couple were last seen in Denton Wednesday night. Gensler says, "We don't feel it happened in Denton. It could have happened anywhere from there all the way to Grand Prairie."

He says she may have been shot while the car was moving. Marcus is being held without bond at the Grand Prairie police department. On Friday, a judge will arraign him and set bail.

Nipp says she's still in disbelief about Marcus. "Shocked because the person you're saying that it is I know him, his little brother, his mom and that's not his demeanor."
