CARROLLTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Carrollton Police have arrested a man they believe is responsible for the murder of a Carrollton man and for burglarizing his home.

Investigators said Kendric DeShaun Alexander was charged with burglary and they are waiting on forensic evidence to indict Alexander on murder charges.

Detectives believe Alexander entered Steve Lehman's home and killed him.

"I can't even bring myself to the realization that my dad is really gone for the rest of my life and how much my kids are going to miss out on it," said Misty Williams, the daughter of the victim. "It just made me break down because that is the last face my dad saw."

Police believe it was an anonymous tip that helped crack the case. Investigators also credit security video from a nearby show that they said shows Alexander driving an SUV in the area the day of the murder.

"It will never fill this empty hole that we have in our hearts," said Williams. "I hope that he gets everything that he deserves. The way my father died, that should not have happened."

All Williams and her kids have left are photographs and memories.

"I don't want this to happen to any other family. I wouldn't wish this on anyone's family. This is a living nightmare," said Williams.

Carrollton Police hope to have the results of the forensic testing soon.
