PLANO (1080 KRLD) - Some residents of Plano are expressing concerns about the presence of bobcats after a small pet was killed.

Sherri Shaw says he found the remains of her 12-year-old dog Bebe in her flower bed after he went missing several days ago.

"He was just the true love of my life," said Shaw. "I miss him every second of every day."

Shaw says her pet was always kept in the backyard to try and prevent this very thing happening.

When she found Bebe, she only knew it was him because of his paws and crooked teeth.

Shaw has now started the 'Bobcat Beware' campaign, recruiting her neighbors in the Pitman Creek neighborhood in Plano.

She's also petitioning the city to put in more effective measures for dealing with bobcats.

Plano's Director of Animal Control says unfortunately their hands are pretty much tied, since bobcats will always be present.

Shaw now just wants to share any helpful information on keeping bobcats away...so nobody else loses their pet like she did.
