Plano Search Continues For Missing Woman

PLANO (CBSDFW.COM) - A new clue could be the key to finding a missing Fort Worth woman. Early on Friday morning, security guards from The Shops at Legacy handed over surveillance camera video in hopes of seeing any trace of 23-year-old Christina Morris. The woman was last seen at the Plano shopping area nearly a week ago.

Friends said that Morris was in Plano at about 4:00 a.m. early Saturday morning. Her car was found this week in the shopping center's parking lot. A friend walked with her to the vehicle from a nearby apartment complex, but the friend did not actually see her get inside of the car.

The missing woman's mother, Jonni McElroy, is traveling around from shop-to-shop on Friday, asking merchants if they remember seeing Morris or anything else that could possibly help lead investigators to a break in this case. Informative flyers are also being passed out around the shopping center.

"Whatever the situation is, it's okay," said McElroy. "We just want to come get her. We don't care. We just want her."

Detectives from the Plano Police Department are reviewing the surveillance camera footage and combing over the area some more in the search for evidence on Friday. According to police officials, the video from the shopping center is very grainy, and it is difficult to make out which vehicles are seen coming or going. Authorities are going to attempt to retrace the missing woman's steps to see what could have happened to Morris.

Police released a portion of the surveillance camera footage showing Morris walking with her friend. This is her last known appearance.

The woman's family members and longtime friends have called this an emotional journey. "You see this stuff on the news all the time," said friend Sydney Robertson. "Having it happen to someone you know, I would never wish this upon anybody."

"We can't sleep," added McElroy. "When you close your eyes, you vision -- I have two different visions. I vision her smile, her touch, and then I also vision the worst. And I don't like that at all."
