PLANO (CBS 11 NEWS) - A lot of North Texans are starting to get those holiday bills. But some are getting hit with bills a lot higher than expected because of a fraud scheme Plano police are investigating.

Security camera video shows a woman casually checking out at a Plano Target store and leaving with items bought with forged checks. She used the stolen drivers license of 20-year-old Neriah Brewer, who recently had her purse stolen.

Brewer started getting collection notices for purchases at Target, Barnes and Noble and other other retailers. The result was a $8,700 shopping spree all because none of the cashier's looked closely at the driver's license photo presented and noticed it wasn't the person shopping.

"Even though she had my ID and presented it I mean come on it's obvious it's not me," says Brewer.

Police believe the woman may be using other stolen IDs They hope someone will recognize her from the video and help the victims repair the damage.
