Plano Police Hold Safety Seminar In Honor Of Christina Morris

PLANO (CBSDFW.COM) - Sunday marks one year since the disappearance of Christina Morris, 23. Her family joined Plano Police Wednesday for a personal safety seminar in her honor.
"I don't want anyone to go through what we're going through," her father, Mark Morris, told the crowd.
Morris' family says she wanted to change the world.
"Well, look around. She's making a change right now," said her mother, Jonni McElroy.
Police have used Morris' story to inspire others to be safe. Lesson number one…
"You cannot tell if someone is safe or dangerous by looking at them," said Officer Christopher Bianez.
The friend Morris had walk her to her car the night she disappeared, Enrique Arochi, is the same man now charged with her kidnapping.
In his presentation, Bianez told people to be aware of their surroundings, project confidence, trust their intuition, and immediately call 911 to report anything suspicious.
"I feel like if Christina had these tools," McElroy said, "maybe she would have been more prepared."
McElroy moved back to North Texas from Oklahoma and still searches for clues in her daughter's case several days a week.
She believes her daughter is alive.
"We haven't found any of her belongings. We haven't found her. So why wouldn't I believe that? There's no proof she's not," she said.
Along with spreading awareness, though, the family offers wisdom, too.
"Maybe, just maybe, this will keep someone else safe," said Morris' step-mother, Anna Morris.
Christina, they said, is making an impact, even in her absence.
